1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Glitch Research Lab ("we", "us") handles information when you use our website, create an account, or place an order. We collect only what we need to operate the service, and we never sell your personal information.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information — your email address and, if you use Google sign-in, the basic profile details Google shares (name, email).
  • Order information — the products, quantities, and totals of orders you place, and the shipping address you provide (name, street, city, state, ZIP, country).
  • Payment method selection — which payment option you chose. We do not collect or store card numbers or crypto private keys on this Site.
  • Technical data — basic information your browser sends (such as approximate request metadata) used to keep the service secure and functioning.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
  • To process, fulfill, and provide status/tracking updates for your orders.
  • To send transactional emails (order confirmations and shipping notifications).
  • To prevent fraud, misuse, and prohibited (non-research) use.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not send marketing email unless you ask us to.

4. How your data is stored & secured

Account and order data are stored in our managed database provider (Supabase). Access is protected by row-level security, meaning you can only ever read or modify your own records; administrative access is restricted. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our infrastructure providers. Order pricing and creation are handled server-side so records cannot be forged from the browser.

5. When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers needed to run the site, and only to the extent required:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and hosting of account/order records.
  • Resend — delivery of transactional emails (confirmation, shipping).
  • Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
  • Google — only if you choose Google sign-in, for authentication.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or the integrity of the service.

6. Cookies & local storage

We use your browser's local storage and essential cookies to keep you signed in, remember your cart, and record that you acknowledged our research-use notice. These are functional, not advertising, technologies.

7. Data retention

We keep account and order information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. You may request deletion at any time (see below).

8. Your rights & choices

  • Access — view your account and order history from your Orders page.
  • Correction — update your details, or contact us for help.
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Sign out / revoke — end your session at any time.

9. Children & eligibility

This Site is intended only for qualified researchers aged 21 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
